2010 Venue & Social Events

The Adelaide Convention Centre was chosen as the venue for Coast to Coast 2010 Actions for Changebecause of its excellent conference and catering facilities – an added attraction is its proximity to the Adelaide city centre and a range of accommodation.

The Welcome Function on Monday evening and the Gala Conference Dinner on Thursday night (23rd September) were held at the Convention Centre.


The Welcome Function, Biodiversity Cocktail Function and Gala Conference Banquet detailed below were included with all full registrations.

Welcome Function / Icebreaker – Adelaide Convention Centre

A Welcome Function was held in Hall G of the Adelaide Convention Centre, with drinks and canapés served. Delegates had the opportunity to meet Exhibition Stand owners and to view an exhibition of paintings by a local watercolour artist, Brian Bugden, and a mosaic sculpture exhibition by Stephen Johnson.

Our music for the evening was presented by Two of Oz – Steve and Angela, a father-daughter duo.

Biodiversity Cocktail Function – South Australian Museum

The Tuesday cocktail function was held at the South Australian Museum, and delegates had exclusive access to the newly opened Biodiversity Exhibition.

Music was provided during the evening by renowned Adelaide Jazz Group, The Bruce Hancock Trio from the Elder Conservatorium of Music, featuring Bruce Hancock – Piano, John Aue – Double Bass and Yuri Markov – Drums. Fantastic!

Gala Conference Dinner – Adelaide Convention Centre Hall F

The Gala Conference Dinner was held in Hall F, commencing with drinks and canapés. Entrees were served, followed by a buffet main course and dessert. Poster presentations to the three selected winners (Rhys for the Coastal Protection Board prize; xx for the People’s Choice) were followed by dancing to the music of the Pop Rivets, a local 3-piece band.
